quick note, because i'm absolutely exhausted and still have to take a shower tonight before sleeping so that my pillow does not reek of cigarette smoke tomorrow, like my hair does right now.
Pressure Cooker kicked ass, i danced for their entire second set, an hour and a half straight. one of my co-workers plays drums for them, so i figured it would be a good time to expose myself to more ska and reggae and rock-steady. i had never heard of rock-steady before. it's spiffy. i couldn't tell if my dancing sucked or not -- is there a canonical reggae/ska/rock-steady style that i should have been trying to do?
Argentine Tango class also kicked ass -- i almost feel not completely clueless now. but i need to do it again soon so i don't loose it. and well, because i want to. i bought a cd of appropriate music, which should help. and i have the card of one of the people in the class, which makes me happy, and which means that maybe i can convince him to practice with me.
dinner was good, though i have to say that Cafe of India has gotten distressingly fancy, and the service was not as good as i would like. i think that of the three very nice Indian restaurants in Harvard Square, only Tanjore has had actually *good* service every time i've been there. admittedly, i've only been to Tanjore twice, and the others 4 or more times, but still. and i think Tanjore might be less fancy than the other two. well, at least the actual food at Cafe of India was still really really good. i would have been sad if it had gone the way of Diva -- overpriced, overly fancy, and distinctly mediocre food. it always seems a pity that there is no good Indian in Davis Square. for that matter, it's *really* a pity that there's no Indian near my workplace, period. there are days i'd love to have Indian for lunch, but it's just not possible. i don't understand.
but there's good Indian in Harvard Square and Central Square and Porter Square and Union Square and Kenmore Square and Newton Centre, so maybe it's okay. i bet there's good Indian in Coolidge Corner, too, but i wouldn't know yet because i keep only having sushi and J.P. Lick's. J.P. Licks has many frozen yogurt flavors, both hard and soft, all nonfat. and they have hellishly good peanut butter sauce. mmm, peanut butter. oh dear, shouldn't make myself hungry right now.
oh... so tired. anyway, i missed bowling, sadly, but did manage to hang out with my friend whose birthday party the bowling was part of, so that was good, too.
and i got lots of really good work done at work. and Buffy lunch was really good. all around, i just had a kickass day. running around crazy overscheduled busy really does suit me. pity it will eventually drive me insane.
also, i still very much want to kiss someone. almost even more so now.
