today i bought a double-disc set of the Replacements, All for Nothing/Nothing for All. i cannot listen to it yet because i must run off to a Boston Symphony Orchestra concert, but just owning it makes me so glowingly happy. and it has some videos on it -- including the infamous Bastards of Young video. something about that speaker getting kicked over... i so love that video. the Replacements are the greatest, purest, rock'n'roll band i have ever heard. and they make me so homesick.
i also bought a couple Robyn Hitchcock & the Egyptians cd's, which are all mike&debbie's fault. and a Semisonic cd -- the E.P. Pleasure -- because it has the song "The Gift" on it, which ling really likes and besides, they're from Minnesota too. and i bought U2's War because i don't yet own it on a cd i am willing to carry around and because it's my favorite U2 album... and may actually be my favoite album, period. hmm. it's like i can only buy albums made by bands from either Minnesota [the 'Mats and Semisonic] or the UK [Robyn Hitchcock and U2]. at least today.
oh shit, really gotta run now. wah.
i'll deal with last entry's parting question later
